Carbon Literacy: 29th September
Carbon Calculation and Reporting: 6th October
Carbon Reduction: 13th October
Sustainable Procurement: 20th October

Carbon Literacy is a practical and interactive course that trains participants on how to understand their organisation’s direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions and what steps they will need to take to measure, report and reduce them. The training covers the policy landscape and the urgency of transitioning to low carbon practices. Participants will learn the terminology, basic math’s and target setting of carbon emissions and the difference between boundaries and Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.

Carbon Calculation and Reporting is a practical and interactive course that trains participants on how to calculate their organisation’s supply chain emissions using practical tools such as the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) Framework for freight and logistics. Participants will understand the transport chain and how to assess their organisation’s impact from freight transport. Participants will also be shown options for reporting emissions to clients, supply chain partners and investors.

Carbon Reduction is a practical and interactive course that trains participants on how to set ambitious yet realistic emissions reductions targets in their organisations and provides guidance on the best tools for adoption inhouse. The course provides a practical and actionable roadmap for achieving emissions targets reductions in line with corporate sustainability strategy and Ireland’s ambitious targets as set out in the Climate Action Bill 2021.

The Sustainable Procurement course trains participants on how to assess their organisation’s current procurement processes and how to adopt more sustainable practices going forward. The course provides an overview of the Smart Freight Centre’s Freight Procurement Guidelines developed in conjunction with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). This course will bring participants up to date on the Circular Economy and Green Procurement (Clause 8.3 within ISO50001) in the context of a rapidly changing legislative and business environment.

This course is delivered virtually by the Irish Exporters Association (IEA)

The course is significantly subsidised at €1040
